“When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ’tis near Halloween.”
Interesting how black cats,( poor kitties), are all over the world associated with witchery and evil things.
We don’t have Halloween here but there’s a tradition on St Andrew’s night, especially in rural areas, that may be somehow compared to it. I will have a post soon on this topic.
Happy Halloween, Mary!
I love black cats, Carmen. We had a beautiful one when I was young. His name was Peaches–long story behind the name, but he was precious. History most likely associated black cats with witches because of the color. Shameful!
Looking forward to your post on Halloween! 🙂
