Flowers in Kensington Park, England
“Happiness is like those palaces in fairy tales whose gates are guarded by dragons: we must fight in order to conquer it.”
Alexander Dumas! One of my favorite authors of all time. I discovered him as a young girl and got lost in his tales.
I hope you have warded off the dragons and are having a “Happy Monday”. 🙂
Totally agree; a wonderful author. Yes, the dragons are sleeping on this rainy Monday. 🙂
Wonderful quote Mary!
I remember hating it when our teacher made us read his books.
As time went on….NOT me getting OLDER….I started to really get into his stories. I still enjoy reading THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO.
Of course THE THREE MUSKETEERS is another good one that I’ll read now and again.
It’s great having my “keepers” bookshelf, it just makes life grand. 🙂
Have a nice day Mary!
Those are three of my favorites, Dalila! Now I feel a need to pull one of them out for a re-read. Love what you said, “It’s great having a “keepers” bookshelf, it just makes life grand.” Beautiful words.
Have a lovely day, my friend…(((HUGS)))
I’m normally in the palace and on the days I’m not I can normally slip in the side door fairly easily. 🙂
Oooo…you know the secrets of the palace, Leah. 😉
Thanks, Cutieb! 🙂
I grew up happily dreaming about gorgeous palaces/castles with their fairytale garden settings with fairies popping up when you least expected them – and oh those absolutely handsome hunky sexy knights to drool over! I was in love with Sir Lancelot and King Arthur and always Robin Hood! What else does one dream of in childhood when a precocious little girl searches her heart of hearts?
Oh Barb, we both dreamed the same dreams. 🙂 I was fortunate to visit an area called Edwinstowe (next to Sherwood Forest) and legend states that St. Mary’s Church is the place where Robin and Marian were married. There has been a worshipping community there since 633AD, so just imagine the energy that surrounds this place. It was a very memorable time and I was blessed to wander and feel the past, especially those of my own dreams. Love the legends! 🙂
